The Gospels seems to engage in a continual debate with people's hopes and expectations. Jesus came, light into our darkness. But the problem with Jesus was he was not the sort of light that we expected. John called Jesus "the light." What do we make of someone who is nothing but light? Light. It is so difficult to define, to limit, to control, or to keep out. The beauty of God, that He is light, reminds us that we cannot hide from him because the light is everywhere. Jesus is the light of the world. In him there is no darkness at all. These songs are about light we find in Him.
